Eric,
God saw you were getting weary
He did what he knew was best.
He stood aside and sent His beloved
Angel down to take you away to rest.
You bid none farewell, not even good-bye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
God gave us strength to bear it,
Courage to take a blow.
But what it meant to lose you,
God will only know.
